I&M Bank Opens Kakamega Branch, Expanding Financial Services in the Region

By Bellbut Strilus - Kakamega’s County’s economy is steadily expanding, prompting calls for business owners to embrace financial institutions for business growth through access to financing.
Previously home to ten banks, Kakamega Town has now seen an addition with the official opening of an I&M Bank branch along Kenyatta Avenue, opposite Family Bank offices.
Addressing attendees at the launch, I&M Bank CEO Gul Khan reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to supporting small business owners through financial lending services and expert guidance.
"We are proud to be here in Kakamega today. I&M Bank stands out by offering seamless transactions, including free Airtel-to-Airtel transfers. This marks our 11th branch, and on April 4, we will open another in Kericho, followed by one in Kapsabet," he stated.
Echoing the CEO’s sentiments, Branch Manager Emily Musungu emphasized the importance of financial planning and investment.
"Opening an account with us is beneficial as it grants access to financial rewards and expert investment guidance," she noted.
Kromuel Kedemy, a senior official at I&M Bank, highlighted that government employees and teachers can access loans at a 16% interest rate.
"I&M Bank is available both online and in physical branches, ensuring our customers can access financial solutions anytime, anywhere," Kedemy said.
His sentiments were echoed by Seline Owuor, head of the marketing team, who reiterated the bank’s dedication to making banking more accessible and efficient for all.
