Tragedy Strikes: Twins Perish in Devastating House Fire in Bushibo Village

A somber cloud hangs over Bushibo village following the heartbreaking loss of two-year-old twins who perished in a house fire on Monday.

The tragic incident unfolded while the toddlers were under the care of a relative, who had momentarily stepped out to fetch water.

Speaking to the media, the relative recounted the horrifying ordeal, explaining that he had left the twins playing outside the house compound when he went to collect water.

“I was left with the children while my father went to church,” he said. “I left them playing outside and headed to fetch water. On my way back, I saw smoke coming from the house. By the time I arrived, the entire home was engulfed in flames. I searched frantically for the children but couldn’t find them. I tried to go inside to save them, but the fire was too fierce, and I had to retreat.”

The twins’ mother, who had recently returned to college to resume her studies, was away at the time of the incident.

According to residents, she had left the children in the care of her relatives just days before the tragedy.

“Their mother had gone back to school two days ago. She left her children in our care, trusting they’d be safe,” said a local resident.

“We still don’t understand how the fire started. It’s heartbreaking. The entire house, along with everything inside, was destroyed.”

Authorities are yet to determine the cause of the fire. Villagers have called on officials to conduct a thorough investigation to uncover the source of the blaze, which has left the community devastated.

“When we heard the news while in church, we cried and were left speechless,” said one neighbor.

The tragedy has shaken the tight-knit village to its core, with many struggling to comprehend how such a catastrophic event could happen in their community.
