MP Oscar Sudi Shuns Tribal Politics

The Kapseret member of parliament, Oscar Sudi, has called upon leaders to shun tribal politics and focus on national cohesion and development.

Addressing a congregation at Amalemba Quakuars Friends church in Kakamega County during a fundraising event aimed towards the completion of the church's story building, Sudi emphasized the importance of a united Kenya while condemning some political leaders for advocating tribal divisions.

"We should work towards having a united country and discourage tribal politics, especially the leaders from the Mount Kenya region. Let us refrain from owning places. Any Kenyan has a right to live anywhere in the country," Sudi declared.

He went on to commend President William Ruto for his commitment to national unity and equitable resource distribution, as highlighted during the President's Madaraka Day speech in Bungoma County.

"Yesterday I was happy when the President promised to streamline the cane sector in the western region and restore it to its former glory despite the region being well known for the massive Azimio supporters," he added.

The member of the National Assembly further urged Kenyans to vote for leaders based on their development agendas rather than tribal affiliations. 

"Elect leaders who can link you to opportunities and development so that you can benefit as a community and not those who come from where you are born "said Sudi.

His remarks come in the wake of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's recent call for leaders to prioritize service delivery over succession politics.
